Triangulate And Assassinate; The Vilification Of A Displaced Population.

"To whom, or what, do we measure the value of another?"
There is a groundswell of an obvious and even blatant disregard for a specific group of people in our community today that has the makings for a total annihilation of their human rights and liberties. For if you are poor, homeless, or suffer from drug addiction, then you are the current target of an unrelenting social shaming and ridicule campaign from others that have deemed you undeserving.
This three pronged attempt at total character assassination of disenfranchised members of our population has to be the most shameful act, so far, of the 21st century in Canada. But, we’re only 19 years into this new century, and history has proven over and over again that it’s just a matter of time before the oppressed and unwanted members of our society become the target of direct and deliberate acts of hatred and violence against them.
We are on a very slippery slope right now, as individuals, and a society. At the rate of this current social uprising against the victims of a system that punishes its own people for not measuring up to a preconceived misconception of who deserves what, and why; it is as good as certain that the groundwork is in place already to further slap this specific group of people in the face, before hanging them all out to dry.
But, let me remind all of you of something that everyone on the attack seems to have forgotten in their frenzy of resentment and disdain for displaced members of our community. Once upon a time, a dozen years ago or so, at least; everyone that you’re persecuting today was once just like and me. They were just cute little babies- innocent, and vulnerable, and fragile, and weak. Just simple human beings, unable to walk, or stand, or speak; and, at the mercy of everyone and everything around them.
History does indeed repeat itself. And, for the countless disenfranchised members of our communities that have been cast out from mainstream society for not measuring up or fitting in, they have once again become vulnerable, fragile, and weak. Not only that, but, in the social and political denial of their entitlement to the same rights and dignities as the very people that look down upon them, they have also become unable to walk, or stand, or speak. Yes, bound by laws, policies, and public opinions that restrict their ability to rise up and beyond their own current situation; and silenced by a system that gives no voice to those that do not comply with the status quo.
Wake up World! The very fabric of our society which separates us from the animals we once were is spiraling into an utter and outright shame on humanity.
I ask you once again; to whom, or what, do we measure the value of another?
